Truck smashes through wall at famous Fort Collins record store

A popular Fort Collins record store is on the mend after a vehicle crashed into the store overnight on Saturday, December 4.

According to a Facebook post from Bizarre Bazaar Books & Music, the incident happened at around 10 p.m. when a red van lost control of College Avenue and crashed into the southwest corner of the store.

Fortunately, no one – including the truck driver and a passenger – was injured in the crash. The store noted that the driver fell asleep while driving and was not under the influence at the time of the incident.

However, the crash caused extensive damage to the store’s third room, which contains CDs, vinyl records, books, and a Darth Vader figurine.

Staff from Bizarre Bazaar came on Sunday, December 5 to clean the third room and make it accessible to the public. A professional catering team is currently working to get the store back to normal.

“It was a hell of a night. Glad no one got hurt. Except Darth Vader,” the store said. “The check-in room is definitely open for business, even during our cleaning [sic] to treat. Thank you for your kind words, your thoughts and your patience !! “

The store also took the opportunity to show off its current recond collection, which includes The Beatles The white album on white vinyl and reveals that the Darth Vader figure is likely to make a full recovery.
