Roon continues to grow at a rather exponential rate and it is no surprise to see more and more hardware partners joining the program. The first quarter of 2022 was a busy time for the manufacturer, which certified 40 new partner devices and announced a new online store.
I have had nothing but success with my Roon Nucleus Music Server so far and highly recommend it if you have a collection of ripped CDs and want to integrate your TIDAL and Qobuz subscriptions in one place.
New Roon Devices
In Q1 2022, Roon welcomed over 40 new Roon Ready and Roon Tested devices from over 20 audio brands, including Arcam, Astell & Kern, Cyrus, McIntosh, NAD, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sonus Faber and more.
New Roon Ready devices include the recently launched Sonus Faber Omnia all-in-one wireless speaker, NAD C399 integrated amplifier with DAC, Dutch and Dutch 8c speakers which have their origins in mixing studios and from around the world, and the McIntosh RS150 and RS250 Powerful Wireless Speaker Systems.
New devices Roon tested include the Audiolab Omnia all-in-one system with built-in CD player, three Cyrus XR-series amplifiers and 11 total A/V receivers from Onkyo, Pioneer and Integra – all featuring Dolby Atmos, HDMI 2.1 and Dirac Live room correction.
Launch of the Roon store
Roon is delighted to present the Roon Store: a hyper-curated online store dedicated to showcasing the best audio products that work seamlessly with Roon.
Every audio product that achieves Roon Ready or Roon Tested certification goes through hours of rigorous testing and is used daily by the Roon team, who have become experts in which products work best with Roon. This is the perfect place for Roon enthusiasts to visit and learn more about their favorite products that are Roon Ready or Roon Tested.
“Over time, we have received more and more questions from users about which products have which functionality, which would be better for a bedroom versus a patio, or which offers the best value for money. at a given price. All of this interest made us think about how to provide a new service to Roon users,” said Roon founder and CEO Enno Vandermeer. “Buying audio online isn’t particularly easy or fun, so we decided to do for the audio shopping experience what Roon himself did for browsing and music discovery.”
The Roon team also created their own content for the online store, including new photography, video tutorials, and information on each product’s features and performance. The goal is to ensure customers have everything they need to get the most out of their Roon certified audio product.
The Roon Store has launched with a limited selection of products in a single category: the all-in-one Roon Ready speaker, with models from Bluesound, Devialet and Dutch & Dutch – with more coming soon. You can also purchase Roon’s own Nucleus and Nucleus Plus music servers from the store.
