The notable cover season continues, as Taking Back Sunday shared a cover of “My Name Is Jonas” by Weezer.

Take Back Sunday has covered the song several times live, but today sees the official release of the very faithful interpretation, with its own take on the iconic Blue album artistic cover.

Speaking of the cover at ResultTBS frontman Adam Lazzara said: “In 2019 we were on tour… a lot! Over time the soundcheck got pretty laborious. One day before a gig in Cincinnati someone started playing the ‘My Name Is Jonas’ opening chords. The rest of us jumped in and played the song almost perfectly on the first try. “

“We started adding the song to our setlist and recorded it on a day off in Buffalo, NY,” said bassist Shaun Cooper. “We love this song and hope our performance does it justice. We hope you enjoy it!”

Weezer themselves are known to do a cover or two, recently covering Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar We’re Going Down” and Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”, not to mention their 2019 cover album, the Teal album.
