Ponchatoula police make drug arrest; the suspects pointed a gun at customers in the store

On May 18 at 7:30 p.m., officers responded to Walmart after receiving a call that two people were sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot and pointed a gun at their children as they drove past. Officers detained the driver without incident and identified him as Kylin Sexton (22 from Hammond). The passenger, Tyshon Coleman, 25, of Hammond, did not obey but was quickly taken into custody. In the passenger seat where Coleman sat was a Glock 9mm handgun and suspected marijuana.

A search of the vehicle revealed the following items:

• 1 Glock 9mm handgun with a 40 round extension holding 32 rounds

• 1 Glock 9mm handgun with a 30 round extension containing 30 rounds of ammunition

• Drum magazine from 1 to 50 cartridges

• 1,580 pills in total suspected of being oxycodone hydrochloride

• Other narcotics suspected of being marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine

• 1 digital scale

🔹Tyshon Coleman was convicted of the following charges and transported to Tangipahoa Parish Jail:

• Felon convicted in possession of a firearm

• Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS

• Possession with intent to distribute Schedule II CDS: 2 accounts

• Possession of Schedule I CDS

• Possession of a Schedule II CDS

• Possession of a firearm in possession of a CDS

🔹Kylin Sexton was convicted of the following charges and transported to Tangipahoa Parish Jail:

• Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS

• Possession with intent to distribute Schedule II CDS – 2 counts

• Possession of Schedule I CDS

• Possession of a Schedule II CDS

• Possession of a firearm in possession of a CDS
