Mick Fleetwood’s balls from ‘Rumors’ album cover go up for auction

Mick Fleetwood is selling the pair of balls he wore on the cover of Fleetwood Mac’s classic 1977 album, Rumours.
The balls can be seen hanging from her waist on the album cover as her left leg rests on a beanbag and holds Stevie Nicks’ hand.
They are estimated to fetch up to $200,000.
The sale is part of a larger auction called Fleetwood Mac: Property of the Lives and Careers of Christine McVie, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood which will begin at Julien’s Auctions from December 3.
Bidding of over $40,000 is already underway for the set, which hangs from a black leather cord and comes in a pouch that reads “Open Sesame.”
The winning bid will also receive a signed print that reads, “Born with them!! Go with them!! Always love Mick Fleetwood,” along with a small sketch.
Fleetwood revealed in a 2009 interview that it was a pair of “toilet chains” he had pinched in the toilet after a few drinks.
“I came out – and I have to admit I had had a few glasses of ale – and I came out of the toilet with this, ripped it out of the – you know, I was very destructive – I ripped it out of the toilet and I had them hanging between my legs,” he told the Maui Times.
They were later lost, but Fleetwood said he had a replacement made and explained why they were on the cover of Rumors:
“Actually, I started out as a blues player. The whole ethos of a lot of blues music is slightly suggestive, I might say,” he said.
“And appropriately, I walked out on stage with these two toilet chains with these wooden balls hanging down, and after that, it gets stuck.
“The originals, the originals that I don’t have – but the ones that I have are very, very old. I won’t say they’re as old as I am. But – it’s starting to get into the X-rated comments here – my balls are quite old.
