The alleged sex CD involving former Karnataka Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi that cost him his ministerial post took a new turn as the minister allegedly accepted that it was him in the video.
According to reports, the former minister who appeared before investigators claimed he knew the woman when she approached him for college project work and the meeting resulted in “closeness”.
However, the former Minister of the Special Investigative Team (SIT) reportedly claimed he was unaware that a video of his act with the woman was being recorded.
Earlier in March, a video was released to the media and Ramesh Jarkiholi, who was in Mysuru Chamundi Hills for the temple darshan, left the rituals halfway and was in an undisclosed location on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
By then, the video had gone viral and put the BJP government in a tight spot. Belagavi’s BJP leader and his brother MP Balachandra Jarkiholi claimed the video was fake and said it was done to slander them.
Karnataka CM then asked Balachandra Jarkiholi to tell Ramesh to send in his resignation and also ensured an investigation as the Jarkiholi brothers claimed it was a conspiracy.
The leaders especially who left Congress for the BJP with Ramesh Jarkiholi in 2019 also defended and blamed the Congress hand in the CD.
The woman, meanwhile, posted another video claiming the alleged sex CD was not fake and expressed shock. She then claimed that she had been the victim of a âjob-for-sexâ scam. His parents were also questioned by the police.
The sex CD affair sparked a blame game between Congress and the BJP.
Meanwhile, SIT has stepped up its search to catch two, Naresh Gowda and Shravan, on suspicion of alleged CD scam and extortion.
